Mallorca has many treasures to offer - but hardly any are as unique as the Salinas d'Es Trenc. Here, on the unspoilt south coast of the island, one of the most valuable natural products has been produced for over 2,000 years: the Flor de Sal d'Es Trenc. A visit to our salinas is not only a journey into the world of Mallorquian salt, but also an unforgettable natural experience.
Salt production in its most beautiful form
Our salt marshes extend over an extensive wetland area where the crystal-clear seawater collects under the Mediterranean sun and slowly evaporates. What remains is pure, hand-harvested sea salt - rich in minerals and full of flavour. The highlight: the flor de sal, the fine salt blossoms that crystallise in the shallow pools on hot summer days and are skimmed off by hand by our salineros.
Nature that inspires
In addition to salt production, the Salinas d'Es Trenc are a paradise for nature lovers. More than 160 bird species - including flamingos and black-winged stilts - find a protected habitat here. Our guided tours not only offer fascinating insights into salt production, but also into the fragile ecosystem of the salt marshes.
